Orchard Wine Bar

Owner / Operator
August 2021 – August 2023

Orchard is a neighbourhood bar in Carterton, Wairarapa. It's a home to simple pleasures, with a focus on community and the artisans who contribute to it.

Mid-way through 2021 I decided to take a break from Auckland and return to my hometown in the Wairarapa, to work on a small hospitality venture. Something I knew the town was in much need of. From start to finish I built the business, brand and managed the fit-out.

Two years on the business has now been sold.

Atomic Coffee Roasters

Marketing & Events
Manager

March 2019 – March 2021

atomiccoffee.co.nz

Atomic Coffee Roasters opened their doors on Ponsonby Road in 1992 – as one of the original coffee roasters, they were seen as the scruffy kid, pumping out live music and top-notch coffee from between fine-dining restaurants. These days they’re known for dealing small-batch, hand-roasted coffee made in Kingsland, and served to cafés & homes across Aotearoa.

I came on-board early in 2019, after the company had been acquired by Japanese giant, Suntory Coffee. I helped redesign the marketing and digital strategy, that put content and story telling at the forefront.

From this process, we got the chance to further understand New Zealand’s coffee culture from the inside out, while looking at it with a creative eye and design sensibilities.

The role also stretched itself to event management and digital/e-commerce.

    Photographer
Well at First Floor Ltd I’ve worked alongside some of Australasia’s most respected action sports, portrait and lifestyle photographers, this resulted in me shooting a range of work that has later been used online, in print and towards advertising for a range of clients. I am capable and equipped to shoot both in a studio environment as well as on location.

    Web Editor
My duties as web editor included, maintaining the daily needs of a content website, controlling multiple social networks and targeting certain content to targeted audiences, working heavily in the marketing department of both magazines and their respective online stores, keeping track of all products going in and out of the system, packaging and handling, along with tracking statistics and producing visual reports to share with clients.
